I fell in love with me temporary buzz cut, what should I do?

I'm a 20 year old girl and I recently buzzed off my hair to 1/32 of an inch to donate it to cancer. And I had 8-14 inches of pretty hair my whole life. I just realized that I really love this hair style and I want to keep it but maybe around 1/2" instead of 1/32". Seriously, it saves me money (All I need is shampoo), its saves me about an hour a day, I dont have to worry about messing up my hair, and it feels so light, cool, and comfortable. This even beats a bob which i had once. I am not lesbian and I dont want anyone to think that so thats what I'm concerned about. I really feel like buying my own clippers and keeping it that way but I don't think I could. What should I do?
