Finger nail biting into skin?

i have been having an issue with my middle finger for the past few days. i THINK my fingernail has grown into it and is biting into the skin. what this always causes for me is that area kind of drys up just in that little corner/crevice. and than just a wee bit above where is bites in, a little all most extremely hardened piece of skin forms it's usually a brownish color and it irritates me and gives me pang in that area. obviously this has happened before but this one i cant use clippers to get out and i get clip the nail either because when i bend back that bit of skin it hurts like crazy. Why can't i grow facial hair?

Well i'm 19 years old, I have pretty big side burns(haven't gotten a hair cut in awhile) but i've never had to shave a day in my life. I have a goatee that's coming along, it's not peach fuzz, but not a full fledged goatee...but no hair ever grows on my cheeks or around my cheek bones. Advice on how to hold my cat down to cut his claws?

I hold my cats in my lap by putting their little rears in my lap so they are sitting up. I then wrap my arm around their chest and get hold of a paw with the same arm.. This helps to keep them upright. I can't say that they like it or don't try to squirm, but I usually get the job done. Since you have someone to help you, you can also have your brother put his hand under their chin and talk to them. It also helps for him to gently hold their chest up while you're doing the back feet. It's hard to explain, but I've been doing this for years. Hope this makes enough sense for you to figure out what I'm saying! I'm glad you are aware of how far to clip, avoiding the quick. Better to cut longer than risk them bleeding. I wouldn't if you have any kind of heart problems. With clippers you're going to be straining a lot and that could put a lot of stress on you. Other than that, if you're in decent shape I'd say you could handle SMALL plants/trees. I actually just did some of that recently and it wasn't too bad. Just don't "overextend" and try to do more than you think you can handle; I eventually had to stop MYSELF because I tried cutting down a tree that was just too wide for my own clippers! That is when I called in professionals.

What 3d rendering/ game engine should I use?

I started out (and am currently working on) blender, since it has both a good 3d rendering engine and a good built in game engine. However, I heard that crystal space is fairly powerful and may perhaps be a better choice for a game engine, and ogre may be a better option as far as graphics go. But crystal space is a game engine and ogre is a 3d rendering engine, where blender is both. I know due to an active project (called blender2crystal) that it wont be that hard to export models, animations etc from blender to crystal space if i want, but what I'm wondering is that is it also feasible to make content in ogre and to export it to crystal space? or to the blender game engine since it seems easier to use? Also, I know that ogre has a lot of add-ons such as the bullet physics engine. Would these add-ons serve in lieu of a full-fledged game engine? Or is blender good enough graphics-wise(compared to ogre) and has a powerful enough game engine(compared to crystal space) for me to not bother with crystal space or ogre?

Whats wrong with my toe?

My toe decides to swell up sometimes near the edge, far from the bone but next to the nail. Usually when this happens I just wait until it hurts so horribly i can stand it anymore then basically I squeeze the swollen portion of my toe until a thick whitish puss comes out of it. So I've gotten to the point where i can stand it anymore and im trying to squeeze it but all i got was blood, with the help from some nail clippers. How awful, that sounds painful. I have used a cream called Bikini Zone before but that is really to be put on right after you shave. They will have the telephone numbers of people who rehabilitate wild life. They will tell you what to do. but it's Sunday so that probably can't be done until tomorrow . if you have a dropper mix some water and sugar which will give the bird enough nourishment to keep it alive till you call someone. Hello, 1st of all in regards to the chewing of the mouth/nails & skin, this is just a habit out of boredom. In regards to the rest, this is certainly OCD, many people think OCD means Obsessive Cleaning Disorder, when in-fact it means Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and it comes in many different shapes and forms, from brushing teeth 50 times a day, to having to have pictures perfectly straight ect. I know this because I have it, my house has to be PERFECT, and I mean perfect, from top to bottom everything has it's own place and everything is neat and tidy. This may sound good, but when you're polishing at 3 in the morning before you can sleep, it's kind of annoying. I'm training to become a Doctor so I have quite a full-silled medical background but this is even better as I have a personal experience. The worst part is, its more psychological rather than habit so you can't just decide not to. My dog has been deathly afraid of nail clippers since I found her as a stray a year ago....?

I found a baby robin, what do I do?

Yesterday, my dad found a baby robin on the floor under its nest (the nest is about 20 feet above the ground). He grabbed a ladder and put it back in its nest. Then, earlier today, he found it again, lying on the same spot. He had some bird poop under him. He put it in a little basket and had a bunch of Kleenex in it so it would be warm and comfortable. Braces can be very scary but the last thing you want to do is mess witht them. So try to never do that again. Now if your orthodontist gave you wax just very carefully put a small ball of wax on the end of the wire. If you dont have wax although it is discusting you could use crayon wax or candle wax. But my best advise is to just go to the orthodontist for a what they call emergenct appointment and they will turn the end of the wire in for you.

I smoked a legal herb, and went to hell.?

Last night sometime after midnight, I smoked a legal plant. I can't remember what it was called, but it had the word "stars" it its name. I've been trying to find it online but it's eluded me so far. Okay, so I'm going to describe the experience. Nothing about this experience was pleasant. First of all, I am familiar with meditation and know how to regulate meditative breathing. I took two really large hits of this herb, thinking it wouldn't be very hard. I was wrong. Within about 1 minute, I started feeling really dizzy and I remember saying, "This feels exactly like when I am about to have a blackout." Then, everything started drastically altering down hill. I was sitting on the floor in a lotus position, and suddenly my entire being was vibrating violently. It was the most horrid sensation of my life, and it lasted, in severity, about 45 minutes to an hour of nonstop hell. Luckily, my wife was there and she was completely sober. She cradled me and held me and it comforted me a lot, but the sensation was no less agonizing. I remember almost everything. I full fledge weeped in her arms a couple of times, and at one point I was repeating the words, "This is terrible, this is terrible; I'm in hell, oh my god, oh my god..." etc. I don't even believe in God and I started praying, "God please help me." Here's a strange sensation that was overpowering: every thing in existence and every thing I felt was mentally represented in my head by shapes. Each sensation had a shape and pattern to it. The act of swallowing, the feeling of holding on to my wife. It was represented in the center of my consciousness by a unique shape. After about 25 minutes or so, I vomited into my wife's lap. It wasn't the last time. I puked about 3 or 4 more times. My wife kept me hydrated with water and at some point I was fed pieces of bread. All of this helped ever so slightly. After about 40 minutes, I started falling asleep. They laid me down where I was and helped me remain comfortable. I fell asleep and woke up on the floor after maybe an hour and was finally slightly lucid. I was able to look at my wife and speak. She helped me get up and take a shower with her, then we went to bed. As I was falling asleep in bed, the effects began to come back and I fearfully clung to my wife for comfort. She was able to coax me back to sleep and now it's 7:43 AM and I still feel a very unpleasant "edginess" over my whole being. I will never try this herb ever again. This is less of a question and more of a "bad trip" blog. Thanks for reading.

My sons father is taking me to court for SOLE CUSTODY!!?

I am 22 years old (full time mother) to a 2 and half year old beautiful boy. I am on welfare and have a nice apartment (not housing) and I also get support from my mother she has been buying me groceries for 2 and half years since my sons father refuses to pay child support. My sons father is 23 years old and has A lot of money, he has a lawyer and I don't and HE FILED COURT ON ME! We both have shared custody since we are both on the birth certificate. I am a stay at home mom, I have been taking care of my child and so has he but he started paying me $198 a month for about 5 months because my social worker demanded it. in October my sons father put my son in daycare Without My Consent!!! and stopped paying me child support all of a sudden!! I went to my social worker and they gave me a paper to show me how much he owes me in child support including the times hes missed and including INTEREST! My sons father makes me have him on the weekends now but I personally think he is doing this because his girlfirend (That he has cheated on me with when I was 7 and half months pregnant) Keeps telling him to take me to court and get SOLE custody and the court papers say he wants me to have supervised visits as if I'm some crack head or something (I DO NOT DO DRUGS) I am a good mother and take care of my son better then my sons father (his sisters and his girlfirned take care of my son and pick him up from day care since my sons father works 9-5 Job) when my son is with me he gets my FULL attention I am a young single beautiful mother and live on my own and make sure there is breakfast lunch and dinner on the table for my son at all times, I bath him at all times he is with me and take him with me everywhere i go when he is with me. I have court on Thursday at 11AM (June 30th) he lied and said i have no food in my fridge, and says my house is always dirty (I had the police investigate my house and said they have never seen a place so clean and nice since i keep my place well kept and they seen i had food in the fridge!) He says my hallway stinks of marijuana (witch is true) but only because my neighbors are pot heads and they are getting evicted they are moving next month my landlord found out they are selling drugs in the building so she evicted them! CLEARY my sons father is doing everything he can to lie on me just to win, wont it show he is trying to take my child from me because he clearly does not want to pay child support and he says he is takin me to court because I have no MONEY!!! Obviously not I only get enough to pay my rent and my mother provides the groceries since he refusees to pay child support but instead Pays the daycare teacher 800 DOLLARS a month! to do my job !! The only thing I am bringing with me is my witness's and my mother (my second sons father should I say) and the paper stating how much CHILD SUPPORT he owes me. My sons father filed for court BEHIND MY BACK but he gave me the court papers LATE (he filed for court MAY 12 2011, AND GAVE ME THE COURT PAPERS ON MAY 31st!) and kept saying he is not going to take me to court if we have a decent custody agreement HENCE why I do not have a LAWYER!!! Why wont my period go away?

ok so i usually have really heavy periods every month that are very painful not so painful that i cant walk but painful enough that i just crunch up in a ball with a heating pad if i were to take a bath with it it would literally be "blood bath" every now and then i get a light month and more then a breath of fresh air but its a pattern i make my calender to keep track the day it starts the day it ends. it goes like this: first 3 days heavy and painful next 2 significantly lighter not so painful but annoyingly painful off and on all day 5th day really light and is usually gone by the time i go to sleep or leaves sometime during the night. but as of the last 3 months its been so different 1 month heavy painful and all that jazz next month light not so painful next heavy ect but this month is by far the wierdest of the the 3 cuz it started out so light and no pain at all! i accepted it with open arms and thought of it as a catching a break that was on a sunday on tuesday it got a little heaver but not much still no pain thursday it got really heavy like it usually is but still wasnt painful so i was still grateful friday and sat it was light again then it got heavy sunday and monday and today tuesday i have to change every hr which i havent had to do for a while but i usually only have my period for 5-6 days never 10+days and i still dont have any pain! not that im complaining but my mom had cervical cancer and uteran cancer at age 19 im 17 she says she bled for 6 months straight so when i tell her whats goin on she just says its happened to her and its nothing but im worried this never happened before im not on birth control and i've never had sex i dont have a gyno doc at all and my reg doc is convinced that she knows best and whenever i ask for something she says "your young it has to be this way" so can anyone tell me whats goin on?

Excessive scratching help!?

I was born with eczema and it has always been present on my life however for the past few years it jas gotten to the point where I will scratch and itch constantly. I can't sleep well because of it and I always have hives and painful scratch marks. I don't use scented anything and often take oatmeal baths. When I go to the dr it is always the same thing. A series of prednisone that clears it up for a week then it comes right back. Please help me. What can I do to stop being so uncomfortable? Is this really eczema or something else? My daughter Michelle, 30, has a disease that doctors can not figure out. Three years ago, Feb. 2008, she began feeling dizzy, continuaully got UTIs, then she was cold all the time, then she began stumbling. Doctors here in Marshfield, WI, first thought MS, then ALS, and sent Michelle to Madison. Drs there ruled out both those and by now, she was also having spasms in her legs and arms. This was Jan. 2009. She had to quit work because she was so exhausted from her muscles spasms all day long. She couldn't remember the drive home. She progressed to using a cane in early 2009 and then a walker by late summer '09. She has had numerous MRIs, CAT scans, spinal taps, blood/urine tests, all coming back 'normal.' She began using a wheelchair 2010. At home she can still move with her walker; in public, her chair. Jan. 2011 we went to Mayo at Rochester, MN. Drs there also came up with no answers. Four months ago she was fitted with braces for her ankles. The back muscles of the ankles were becoming very tight, causing her feet to droop and turn inward when sitting. March 12, this year, she began having full-fledged seizures, second one 3 wks later and now on meds for that. Tests at 3 different facilities showed no signs that she had any seizures either time. Ok so I just got a pair of clippers and gave myself a number 1 buzz cut, which is great looking, except I noticed that in pics of a number 1 cut, the hairline has a straight, round look, and I noticed my hairline is kind of receding. Hemorrhoids... how can i make them go away!?

i have had a case of hemorrhoids for the last three almost four months now and im just getting sick of them. i know the fact that i have bouts of random diarrhea at least three times a week doesn't help. iv had that problem since my son was born and he is almost four months old. any who they never hurt until this week and now its getting to where i cant stand to sit or walk. i did apply desitin to them this morning and it helped with the pain thank god! how can i get these stupid things to stay in and go away!? i know to soak in a warm bath and to push them in but one of them never stays in there and its the one that's causing all the pain. should i see a dr about this since it hasn't gone away ( i currently dont have insurance so im putting off a dr visit for as long as possible). any advice? im tired of the irritating pain.

with the guards the number 4 and number 3 that's the size of the guard and if you go to the store that's how you buy them on cutting your own hair its pretty hard with any hair style the front is typically easier then the back but i would advise standing in front of a mirror and holding another mirror w/ your other hand to see the back of your head and just try it out but to be safe when your done just ask someone if you missed a spot

What are some good ways to help out a couple with a sick infant?

I have this coworker who has a 6 mth old with seizures. She's been missing work to take the baby to the hospital for so many tests. A friend of ours helps out here and there by taking care of her 2 yr old, but I'm not good with kids, lol. I want to know what I can do to show her my support. I call every now and then but it's just the same thing, he's not well. Basically, I have a dog who is kind of old. I love her, but I am trying to decide if I should give her to my little brother to care of or keep her and risk our new apartment be peed in and smelled up. I also have a 1 year old to raise. She throws up from time to time, and poops once in awhile. If I put her out back on the patio, she barks her head off until I let her in. After grooming, she smells in less than 3 days which would require me to give her a bath twice a week. My Mom and brother whom I'm thinking of giving her to, have a backyard and a bigger house, also another dog. So what do you think? Should I give her to my Mom and Brother or should I keep her?

How do i get glass out of my foot?

so i steped on a REALLY REALLY small fragment of glass and its in there pretty deep. Ive tried removing it with tweezers and cuticle clippers ive soaked my foot with salt everything i can think of to get it out. it is very painful to walk on. Plz dont tell me to go to the doctor because the clinic is closed here and im pretty sure my friendly ER would be a little ticked if i took up there time for a sliver. my problem is that this has happend to me before (i think) and ended up needing surgery on my foot. (i had a small little bump on my foot my doctor thinks was cuz i steped on something and upon cutting my foot open found NOTHING) i will be sooo mad if i go to the doctors and they want me to go through surgery AGAIN on the same foot just under my incision so i can sit in a wheel chair for another 5 weeks . . any suggestions to keep me from being butchered again would be nice!!!

Spitting Blood and stomach pains?

Around 4:30 today i started getting a stomach ache like i was hungry, and i went in the bathroom with my girlfriend when she was taking a bath and all of a sudden i tasted blood in my month so i got up and spit into the sink and there was bright red blood the first thing my girlfriend did was check and see if it was my teeth and it wasnt so we went to the ER, there the doctor said the only places it could be from is stomach nose or throat and he did nothing and said i was fine but i still feel like crap no more spitting blood but stomach still hurts and i ate idk what to do im freaking out help

OMG braces are majorly hurting!! :'(?

I got braces on monday (fixed on the bottom and retainer at the top) and my orthadontist didnt cut the end of my wire down properly so it was too long one one side at the back of my mouth and it was poking my mouth and irratating me. So i very stupidly cut it down with nail clippers so itt's like 4mm long now but its razor sharp now that ive dun it and its shredding my cheek like helll and when i poked it with my finger, it cut my finger pretty bad. what do i do!!??? especially if i have another 8 weeks of shredding left :'(

How to get rid of the mysterious lump on my pinky finger?

On the middle of my pinky finger, there's an odd lump on my finger. It contains no fluids and does not hurt when i press it. I've had it for about 2 years now, and it has never caused me any problems. When i pick the lump with my nail clipper/sewing needle, all im really digging through is flesh, which really makes it hurt. I would like to know why I cannot take a bath?

On the 20th of June, I suffered a heart attack in the LAD region of the heart. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday. They went over about 10,000 things I need to do or avoid doing. However, I was told I cannot take baths but no one has explained why. When I am not feeling well, sitting and soaking in a nice war bath tub is the thing I love to do most.

Can I cut my kittens claws?

I got a kitten. Shes about 7 weeks old.. (Around There) and shes very playful, but its hard to play when she has super sharp nails, and I have two younger sisters who are afraid to get cut by them. I have the type of toenails where you can see really well under it; unlike where many people have toenails that are almost totally closed so that you cannot see underneath the toenails. Why is my female budgie attacking the other budgies?

Hi I breed budgies in an aviary in Australia and I have currently 4 adult budgies (2 female and 2 male) and 5 baby budgies (3 baby's have fledged) but recently 1 of the female budgies is attacking the others in my outdoor aviary. I don't understand this behaviour but I guess a have alot to learn, but I also have another female with still 2 chicks to still raise in the nestbox. I have 2 nestboxes On the same height level. But the female that's attacking all the others mainly attacks when another bird goes near the mother budgies nestbox like she is guarding the chicks even tho ther not hers. Does anybody understand my female budgies behaviour, if do please help me out

I think that if your willing to experiment a bit, go for it! If you can, the day before the show go to the barn where the show is going to be and ride him in the ring/arena that they have there and ride with some other people. The only way you can really find out how he will behave is to play with it a little bit! Also, if he prefers trail rides so much he hopefully will be fine adapting to a new environment on the day of the show. I think its worth a shot, and even if it doesn't go the way that you plan its a learning experience and then you will have a better idea of what to expect from your horse next time, or what you might want to do differently. Should I introduce my daughter to her first shower? she will be 4 in dec?

I am a single dad of 2 kids! 1 boy 1 girl. I was wondering if I should intro duce her to her first shower for a time saver! and if I was to do that because she is clumbsy should i shower with her to prevent her from slipping and falling and cracking a skull!! I personally think showers are faster and cleaner!! because your not sitting in your own dirty water!! plus like i said if your in a rush but need to get washed up a shower can be done in 5 or 10 minutes rather than a bath which takes about that to fill it up!! any opinions? and my son is still too young to be left alone in the tub so he isnt ready for the shower yet!!

You should bring a razor in shaving cream, if you don't want hairy legs. 1 Bottle of shampoo would work, it depends how much you use though. You should bring tampons for the day, and pad for night, since it an over night summer camp.

If you are encouraging people to bring their dogs tone down the kids items like bouncy castle and sumo sites, face painting etc. provide a LOT of shade.and kiddy pools for the dogs. You dont want the place overrun with screaming bratty children that will spook the dogs or get in the way. Provide LOTS of poop bags, have.a secret scouter for "most responsible dog owner award" (always scoops their poop, keeps their dog from pulling on leash, does proper introduction to other dogs etc.) And give that prize at the end of the day
