How do I care for a fledged parakeet?

My baby budgie should be fledging the nest in a few weeks and I'm not sure how to care for him at that point. I'm thinking about placing paper towels at the bottom and a ladder for him to climb on. I'm also thinking about adding a few millets in the cage. What else do I need?
